Dear Lord, I hope she chooses me

What can I do to make her see?

Maybe if I reach out with my paw

She'll forget the pretty Siamese she saw

Cause I don't have the prettiest fur

And my eyes aren't as sparkly as they once were.

You see, my people no longer wanted a cat

And now the shelter is where I'm at!

I long to have a tender touch

And  little dry food... That's not too much!

Now she's looking at the kittens dear

She'll pass me over, that's my fear

Let this kindly lady at my cage linger

Hmmmm, maybe if I lick her finger.

Oh! Thank God, she's asking for me

This could be my chance, I may go free!

My prayer is now for my fellow animal friends

God let them find their own happy ends.

Bless all the creatures who are caged and bound

For all, may loving homes be found.

A Christmas Prayer for Ferals

Dear Lord as we sing our Christmas Carols

Help us not to forget our friends, the Ferals.

Bless each precious furry feline beast

With a bowl of fresh water and a fancy feast.

Send each one an Angel to guide their way

And a vet who will vaccinate, neuter, and spay.

Blankets and towels, shelters and hay

We ask you to give them on your Son's birthday

Lord we ask for each kitten a home full of love

And a Guardian Angel from Heaven above.

May all colonies have a Christmas of peace

And shelters with blankets of warm furry fleece.

There is a young lady named Karyn

With Feral cats she's always sharin'.

She saved my life when she found me at the pound.

All cats are safe when Karyn is around.

She had me fixed and vaccinated, too.

And if you have an animal problem, she'll be there for you.

All cats of Horry County can now sleep in peace

'Cause Karyn got a moratorium on the animal police.

She works to save us from poison and prison.

She gets the Horry County Council to listen.

You see, Karyn knows that the only way

To fix the animal over-population is to neuter and spay.

I think she should be the Volunteer of the Year

'Cause she saves so many cats from death and fear.

Her group, Sav-R-Cats, is new and small.

We need a little money and support - That's All!

We hope to get a shelter and a no-kill sanctuary.

If she wins the prize, our holidays will be more merry!

So take it straight from a feral

Whose life was in peril -

Karyn Barber is a volunteer with a heart full of love

She was sent to help all ferals from up above.
