Sav-R-Cats is a strictly non-profit organization and we need help. We are currently looking for all types of volunteers. Listed here are a few types of help that we need and if you can think of anything else, please contact us and let us know.

A Letter to Our Members:
It seems this year that the problems with feral, abandoned, and stray cats is either getting worse or is commanding more attention than in years past.  People have discovered Sav-R-Cats to be one of the few organizations they can turn to which will not kill nuisance or feral cats.  Subsequently, the pleas and referrals keep rolling in.   Sav-R-Cats desperately needs volunteers to assist with the many duties we have, so that we may better help the cats.  If you have the free time and want to be helpful, we implore you to call us.  We need you and the cats need you!  If you are interested, we need help with the following:

  • Work at the adoption center
  • General Clerical Duties, including Correspondence and Answering the Telephone
  • Contact Media Outlets and Newspapers to further our cause and Solicit Donations
  • Help Trap and Transport Feral Cats to/from Veterinarian

Volunteers are the backbone of any organization.  Without your assistance, there will be very little success.  Meow Meow. Please Help Now.

To Help With Cats:
Feral colony caretakers are responsible for traveling to feral cat colony locations and providing food, clean water and protection from bad weather for the cats that live in the colony. Some caretakers build elaborate shelters for their feral cats to live in, while others use a discarded board to protect the food/water station. Some colonies are fed every day, while others only need to be checked twice a week. Caretakers are also asked to keep a log of the cats that are a part of their colony, and assist in the trapping, neutering and re-releasing of the cats to their colony. Some friendly colony members will be placed in permanent homes through our adoption program. Sav-R-Cats always needs volunteers to maintain existing colonies, or to assist with the establishment of new colonies, as needed.

To Transport Cats:
Do you enjoy driving and meeting new people? Then this may be the position for you. We currently need people who are able to transport cats from private homes to veterinary offices for spay/neuter surgeries. We provide this as a service to those people who are unable to take their cats into the veterinary office themselves, but who wish to have them fixed.

Help with Charity Fundraisers & Phone Calls:
Do you have a knack for talking to people? Do you enjoy planning events and coming up with ideas? We are always looking for new ways to get our message out there, and get the funding we need to help the cats that come through our doors each year. So, if you have any suggestions and the time to implement them, we'd love to hear from you!

We are currently looking for people who have good phone skills to contact adopters and check on how the cats and how their new families are getting along.
